Our story
Marty Harris has spent over 30 years teaching Design & Technology, Engineering and STEM in secondary classrooms — currently as Head of Faculty (Technologies) at Hillcrest Christian College. Technically Speaking grew out of that classroom experience: done-for-you projects and PD built by someone who has actually run them with real students, not written from a textbook.
Achievements
- 30+ years teaching Design & Technology, Engineering and STEM, across Northern Beaches Christian School, Pacific Hills Christian School, Pacific Coast Christian School and Hillcrest Christian College
- Currently Head of Faculty (Technologies) at Hillcrest Christian College
- 8 years as an HSC examiner in Design & Technology and Engineering Studies
- Grew Technically Speaking's Solid Edge CAD training into 250+ schools nationwide as National Manager of the Solid Edge for Schools Program (2004–2012)
- Co-developer of the Power Anchor and Project Suite (poweranchorprojects.com)
- 2021 Gold Winner, Australian Good Design Awards — Car and Plane Connectors
- 2021 Winner, Australian Good Design Awards — Power Anchor
- Conference presenter: IIATE Head Teacher Conference, National DATTA Conference, AIS STEM Conference
